About Olly & Alasdair

Olly doing his 'Heathcliff' face
Way back when the economy existed and you had to be white to be President two young men went to university. They came from very different backgrounds: One was a cheeky little Glaswegian with a rougish smile and a jaunty gait (Alasdair), the other was a willowy Australian with red-hair and sad grey eyes (Olly). Alasdair spent his nights locked away in the library reading with a torch and hoping the security guards wouldn’t hear his hushed breaths as he delved into the machinery of his very trendy degree. Olly, on the other hand, was far too busy living life to the MAX to dedicate much time to his very frumpy degree.
However their disparate lives collided when they both became involved in the recently founded student radio station ‘STAR FM‘. Olly had been the founding secretary and had presented a variety of shows which found him uttering breathless excitable comments to bookend his pick of his iTunes collection.
Alasdair had some sort of ‘hilarious’ chat show where he was ‘hilarious’ for hours on end like a monkey with a symbol or something. But then they became incredibly powerful and began to run the station like kids from a sink estate that become the CEOs of Google. It was so intense people would stop in the street and just admire them, nodding rhythmically in stunned adulation. They eventually combined forces and began to do a weekly show called ‘Jazzical’ that melded Classical and Jazz music together in a delicious almost sexual way. Within months its listenership was well into the double figures and they never looked back… Well actually they graduated, realized that some greedy banker-types had screwed the job market for them and so they made this website. True story.
